MTN Zambia announced on Monday, 20 January 2020, the appointment of Komba Malukutila as Chief FinTech Officer effective 1st February 2020. Until this appointment, Malukutila served as General Manager: Enterprise Business within MTN Zambia where he led the operation to win the best Enterprise Business OPCO of the Year 2018 within MTN’s global footprint.
Malukutila brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new role gleaned over a 10-year career within the telecommunications industry with a track record of driving business strategy for growth, as well as developing high-performing teams.
As a dynamic telecommunications professional with over 12 years of work experience within Commercial and Technology functional streams, Malukutila has led various portfolios within MTN including Product Development, Marketing and Enterprise Business.
Malukutila holds a Telecoms MBA from the Telecoms Academy, South Africa and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of
Commenting on the appointment, MTN Zambia Chief Executive Officer Bart Hofker says, “In the period that I have worked with Komba, he has shown strong customer focus, result-driven and a lot of positive energy: he is a pleasure to work with. This appointment comes hot on the heels of MTN Zambia launching a new range of non-expiry mobile data bundles – dubbed ‘Freedom bundles’. The Freedom bundles are added to existing mobile data bundles to offer customers more choice and to contribute to digital inclusion in Zambia.
